A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Hiatus...of sorts

Well, it has been AWHILE since I posted anything on this blog. Not because I didn’t want to, and have many times thought, “This would make a good blog post…” about various things. My husband is off during the summer, which means we try to spend more time together as a family, and less time being electronically connected J Okay, well, sorta. The real reason for this absence is that around the 4th of July our computer messed up. We then got a friend of ours to fix it. Got it back, and it did the same thing within about 2 days. It then took awhile to get it fixed again, while we were throwing around the idea of actually having to purchase a NEW computer. Well, now we have our computer back, AND a new computer :). But, in the meantime, I filled up my 4 gig compact flash card for my camera (which, is a LOT of pictures) and I didn’t have anywhere to put them. Hence, I didn’t want to blog, because, what fun is a blog post without pictures, right?
So, I am here now, trying to give you a brief update on our summer. We got our house ready to sell. We painted. We cleaned. We moved stuff from our closets to my in-laws house. We camped (in the NC mountains). We swam (very little…much less than the 3-4 days a week we were at the pool last year). We spent time with friend and family. We watched fireworks. We went to concerts in the park. Kevin got a new job. We gardened. We ate squash, and okra, and cucumbers. I learned to make pickles. I canned tomatoes. I froze okra and squash. We yard-saled and craigslisted. We loved on our boys and our precious baby girl. We saw Shane & Shane. We read. We lived life, and enjoyed it.
Here's a few pictures from the summer...

Hope you all had an enjoyable summer. And I am looking forward to posting on here a little more frequently now that I have computerS!! :)

The past 6 weeks

Well, it has been a crazy 6 weeks here (yes, she is 6 weeks old...I can't believe it!). We have become a family of 6, enjoyed Kevin's spring break (which he called "Spring Work" since he was working on so many projects), spent a day in the closet while the tornadoes came through Alabama, thanked God that we were spared and prayed for the families that were not, spent almost 5 days without power, Kevin worked with disaster relief, washed a LOT of laundry once we had power back, went on our church campout to Fall Creek Falls, tried to get our lives back to "normal", planted a garden and all the while our little baby girl has been growing. She is a big girl! She weighs about 13 pounds already! She has not been the most easy-going baby, but she does sleep well at night, for which I am very grateful. It is very fun to have a splash of pink in our blue world. The boys are doing great with her. Joel had a hard time being gentle at first, but I think he has gotten the hang of it. The bigger boys just love and dote on her. Both are very helpful at giving her the paci when she is crying (which is a good bit). Canaan was a little too helpful the other day...he got her out of the swing and was carrying her across the room towards our room before Eli yelled "Mama, Canaan has Lillianna!!" I ran in there trying not to scare him so much that he would drop her. But, to my surprise he actually was carrying her quite well! :) Maybe when she is a little older...

So, this has been a long time coming, but I thought I would finally share some more pictures of our baby girl!

Check out that chub!! :) She is so kissable!

And here's a few of the boys with their baby doll.
